Herman Urban was born on March 11, 1855, in Weissenberg, Germany. He immigrated
to America when he was in his teens and married Johanna (Anna) Melde in Fedor on October 21, 1877. Seven children were
born to their union. Johanna died soon after the birth of Hulda and Herman married Magdalena Krautschick on October
15, 1890. Fourteen children were born to their union.
